Direction B was selected for further development. The objective of this final exploration was to create a quick overpaint on top of option B in order to explore a range of additional ideas.
Options B and C were selected from the exploration phase. The goal of this stage was to push the rendering slightly further in order to evaluate how the translucent material, inspired by the classic early-2000s Game Boy shells, could feel when applied to the weapon. For this exploration, I needed to study how the weapon worked internally and understand the internal components it was built around.
For the initial round, I created a series of explorations based on the references, focusing on retro-inspired ideas for the P90. I then refined the four selected versions and produced a color test to establish the weapon’s overall mood.
